What is Non-surgical nose reshaping / rhinoplasty?
The non-surgical non invasive nose reshaping, non-surgical rhinoplasty involves the use of a dermal filler – Evolence or Restylane injected to reshape and contour the nose / soft tissue augmentation, to achieve a natural aesthetic appearance, in a quick, safe and effective out-patient treatment.
Who is a good candidate for Non-surgical Nose reshaping?
Any patient with a deformity of the nose who desires to improve the shape may be suitable for a non-surgical rhinoplasty / nose reshaping. Patients with a large nose or severe deformities will require a full rhinoplasty but with less severe deformities the Dermal filler can reshape the bridge and or tip of the nose to the desired shape with soft tissue augmentation. Patients who have irregularities or deformities following a rhinoplasty, are ideally treated with the non-surgical nose reshaping with dermal fillers, avoiding revisional surgery. Also, patients who have deformities of the nose either from birth or from injuries can achieve significant improvement without the pain, risk and recovery associated with a Rhinoplasty.
How is the Non-surgical nose reshaping / rhinoplasty treatment performed?
Initial consultation will determine the goals of treatment, make note of any associated abnormalities or asymmetry and plan the optimum non-surgical nose reshaping to achieve the ideal result in each patient. Treatment is carried out in the out-patient setting and takes 15 - 20 minutes. A local anaesthetic injection is used to ensure that the treatment is as comfortable as possible. Evolence or Restylane is injected into the nose – bridge and or tip to improve the shape, profile, projection and symmetry with soft tissue augmentation.
Will the treatment be painful / cause bruising after Non-surgical nose reshaping / rhinoplasty?
Minimal discomfort is expected during the treatment and no bruising should occur with the careful techniques used. Any mild bruising will usually resolve after 1 week. Your nose may feel tender for the first 3 – 5 days.
When will results be seen following Non-surgical nose reshaping / rhinoplasty?
Improvement in nose shape will be seen immediately following non-surgical nose reshaping. Any swelling will resolve in 1 week.
How long will the result of Non-surgical nose reshaping / rhinoplasty last?
Evolence will provide long lasting improvement in nose shape for approximately 12months. Restylane dermal filler will provide results that last for 6 months. Repeat treatments are recommended every 12 – 18 months to maintain the nose shape as desired.
What are the side effects or risks following Non-surgical nose reshaping / rhinoplasty?
Mild discomfort, swelling and bruising can occur. Reactions following Restylane or Evolence are rare.
When will I be able to return to normal activities after Non-surgical nose reshaping / rhinoplasty?
Restricted activities are advised for 48 hours following non-surgical nose reshaping. Normal activities can be resumed thereafter.
