What is non surgical breast shaping with Macrolane?

Macrolane- is a smooth, pure, crystal clear non-animal hyaluronic gel - NASHA, which provides long lasting volume reshaping of the breast. Macrolane is specifically formulated for the breast ensuring that the product does not migrate or cause any concerns with the breast tissue. How is non surgical breast shaping treatment with MAcrolane performed?

Initial consultation will determine the goals of treatment, make note of any associated abnormalities or asymmetry and plan the optimum treatment to achieve the ideal result in each patient. Treatment is carried out in the out-patient setting and takes 30 – 40 minutes. A local anaesthetic injection is used to ensure that the treatment is as comfortable as possible. A small incision (2-3mm) is made in the crease below the breast and the Macrolane is injected behind the breast tissue (subglandular plane). Approximately 50 -100cc can be injected into each side to reshape the breast to the desired result. A short course of antibiotics will be prescribed.

Will non surgical breast shaping treatment with Macrolane be painful / cause bruising?

Minimal discomfort is expected during the treatment and no bruising should occur with the careful techniques used. Any mild bruising will usually resolve after 1 week. Your breasts may feel tender for the first 3 – 5 days.

When will results be seen after non surgical breast shapingwith Macrolane?

Improvement in breast shape will be seen immediately following treatment. Any swelling will resolve in 1 week.

How long will the result of non surgical breast shaping with Macrolane last?

Macrolane releases hyaluronic acid gradually over a period of time, therefore the improvement in the breast shape is expected to last from 12 – 18 months. Repeat treatments are recommended every 9 - 12  months to maintain the breast shape as desired.

What are the side effects or risks of non surgical breast shaping with Macrolane?

Mild discomfort, swelling and bruising can occur. Reactions following Macrolane are rare. Hardness of the breasts can occur for up to 6 weeks. Bleeding and infections are rare in Macroalne Breast enlargement or shaping.

When will I be able to return to normal activities after non surgical breast shaping with Macrolane?

Restricted activities are advised for 2 weeks following treatment with Macrolane Breast. Wearing a support sports bra is recommended for 2 weeks and then during any physical activity for a further 2 weeks.
