Dermaroller / Intensive Microneedling London
Dermaroller Dermastamp Intensive Microneedling for Face and Body
Intensive MicroNeedling Treatment is a safe and effective way to rejuvenate collagen and elastin to restore and repair skin and reduce lines and wrinkles. Even more effective in piercing the skin than traditional skin needling because of the vertical needling technology, the Intensive MicroNeedling is perfect for:
- Skin rejuvenation
- Skin Tightening
- Scar Improvement
- Stretchmark improvement
- Improved Skin Texture and Colour
When it is compared to the traditional dermaroller treatment, the Intensive MicroNeedling reduces pain and downtime. Its size and shape allow it to be used on difficult to reach places such as the nose and upper lip and is perfect for aging, sun damaged or scarred tissue.
The Intensive MicroNeedling works by a controlled injury which stimulates healing processes resulting in new collagen and new tissue formation. This rejuvenates skin and improves scars, stretch marks, texture and pigmentation.
Q: What is Intensive Microneedling or Dermaroller Electronic Derma Stamp?
The sterile medical device of the highest quality and design works by producing thousands of microscopic needle columns in the dermis of the skin, these stimulate natural healing and regeneration of the skin.
Q: What are the benefits of Intensive Microneedling?
Intensive Microneedling can significantly improve the appearance of acne scars, ageing and sun damaged skin, facial and décolleté lines and wrinkles and stretch marks. The natural regeneration and repair takes time as new collagen is formed, new skin cells are generated and the blood supply is enhanced.
Q: Am I the ideal patient for Intensive Microneedling?
If you are healthy, with active skin infections or cold sores, are not pregnant or breast feeding and would like to improve acne scars, sun damaged skin, facial lines and wrinkles or stretch marks, then Intensive Microneedling is suitable for you. The face, neck and décolleté can be treated as well as scars or stretch marks on the body. It is suitable for all skin types. Three treatments are recommended at 6 weekly intervals but 4 or 5 treatments may be required for acne scars or stretch marks to achieve the optimum results.
Q: Does Intensive Microneedling require a general anaesthetic or hospitalisation?
Intensive Microneedling is performed using local anaesthetic cream in an out-patient setting without the need of hospitalisation.
Q: Can Intensive Microneedling be used with hpertrophic or keloid scarring?
Unfortunately, Intensive Microneedling therapy is not recommended in patients with a history of hypertrophic or keloid scarring.
Q: How long is the Intensive Microneedling treatment?
The treatment normally takes less than 45 – 60 minutes to perform.
Q: What reassurance do I have with the Intensive Microneedling?
The Intensive Microneedling is a medically tested sterile single use devise which is proven to be safe and effective in stimulating the natural repair and healing of the skin. Your treatment will be carried out by our trained Aesthetic Practitioner or Physician to ensure that you receive the optimum treatment for your skin.
Q: How long is the recovery time?
Your skin will be mild to moderately red – like sunburn, for 3 -4 days, but usually fades in 2 days. It will feel warm and tighter immediately following your Intensive Microneedling treatment which lasts for 2 – 4 hours. You should avoid make-up for 24 hours but can use mineral make-up after 12 hours if necessary. Patients can go back to their normal activities after 1 – 2 days.
Q: What about the results?
The results are first and foremost natural. As the Intensive Microneedling acts by stimulating the skins’ natural healing and repair, there is a gradual improvement in the appearance and feel of the skin over 4 – 6 weeks. This process continues for up to 3 months. Depending on the area being treated, such as acne scars or stretch marks, additional treatments may be recommended to achieve the optimum results.
Q: How long do the results last?
The results of Intensive Microneedling will be long lasting. However, it is important to recognise that with the natural regeneration and healing of the skin, the aging process is not stopped, it is reversed somewhat, but does continue. Therefore, maintenance treatments may be recommended.
Q: What are the risks / side effects of Intensive Microneedling?
The risks of treatment with the Intensive Microneedling are very low. Some prolonged redness may occur but is rare. Infection is also rare as the skin normally heals very quickly after Intensive Microneedling treatment. Hyper-pigmentation is very uncommon following this treatment as no epidermis is removed. Patients who have a risk of hyper-pigmentation will benefit from a course of skin preparation prior to Intensive Microneedling. Mild bruising may occur especially around the eyes. This is usually mild and resolves in 5 – 7 days.
Q: Is Intensive Microneedling an alternative to a LASER treatment?
Yes! Intensive Microneedling is a good alternating to fractionated LASER resurfacing especially for patients who do not want the longer recovery of LASER treatments and also for certain skin types where LASER treatment has a risk for pigmentation changes.
