Why have Botulinum Toxin treatment - Sweatox?

Sweating is a normal process that facilitates heat loss from the body, but can also be induced by emotional stress e.g. fear.

However, excessive sweating called Hyperhidrosis can be both psychologically and physically disabling. Topical treatments for localised sweating can achieve good control in many patients but in some excessive sweating - Hyperhidrosis, is not controlled effectively and these patients can achieve excellent results with Botulinum Toxin- BOTOX -Dysport treatment.

Most patients treated with Botulinum Toxin- BOTOX - Dysport report greater than 90% reduction in sweating in the axillae and palms with minimal side effects, making this a highly effective treatment for localised Hyperhidrosis.

Surgical alternatives involve excision of the sweat glands (axillae) or division of the nerves responsible for sweating (palms) - Hyperhidrosis. Both procedures carry significant risks and relapse rates, while Botulinum Toxin - BOTOX - Dysport treatment for Hyperhidrosis has minimal risks but requires repeat treatments.

A clear understanding of your concerns and careful examination is vital in order to achieve the optimum result following treatment with Botox or Dysport. The type of treatment required to achieve the best result for you will depend on your goals and will be discussed at the time of your Consultation.

Remember BOTOX - Dysport treatment for Hyperhidrosis will not change you or solve any life crises, but should boost your self-confidence and enjoyment of life.
