Lip Lift London

YOUR QUESTIONS

The female upper lip is aesthetically attractive when the upper lip just exposes the front teeth with the mouth slightly open. The female upper lip is shorter and fuller than the male lip. With aging the upper lip loses volume and lengthens.

By shortening the height of the upper lip with a Lip Lift, a more attractive feminine appearance can be achieved. Lip augmentation can restore a more youthful lip or add volume to a thin lip. Juvderm Ultra or Restilane provides natural volume replenishment for your lips with a safe and effective and long term improvement.

Your Questions

Q: Why have Lip Lift Surgery?
A: Lip Lift Surgery is a Specialist Plastic Surgery operation to create a more feminine upper lip shape by removing tissue from just below the nose. This effectively lifts the upper lip and improves the shape but does not add fullness. Lip Augmentation can be achieved in combination with Lip Lift Surgery to give full soft youthful aesthetically luscious lips.

Q: Am I suitable for Lip Lift Plastic Surgery?
A: If you are concerned about the appearance of your upper lip shape, too long, and would like to achieve a more feminine appearance, then Lip Lift Plastic Surgery may be suitable for you. Botulinum toxin treatment may also be beneficial to relax active muscle in the upper lip and reduce lines and wrinkles. You should be aware of the side effects and risks before deciding if Lip Lift Plastic Surgery is right for you.

Q: Are there any contra-indications to Lip Lift Plastic Surgery?
A: You should not have Lip Lift Plastic Surgery if you have an active skin disorder on the face or area to be treated, a current infection or active cold sores. Smoking can cause delayed healing and poor scars.

Q: Does Lip Lift Plastic Surgery require a general anaesthetic or hospitalisation?

A: The Lip Lift Plastic Surgery takes approximately 30 to 45 minutes to perform.

Q: When will the results be seen?
A: With the Lip Lift Plastic Surgery procedure, immediate improvement of the upper lip is seen. Some swelling is expected in the first 3 to 5 days before the final results are evident at 2 to 3 weeks.

Q: What about the scars following Lip Lift Plastic Surgery?
A: The scar following Lip Lift Plastic Surgery will be visible just under the nostrils and in the groove where the nostril meets to cheek. The scar is expected to fade over 6 to 12 weeks and continue to mature, improve for up to 12 months.

A: Common to all surgical procedures there are always risks associated with surgery. However, complications are uncommon. Mild discomfort is expected for the first 3 – 5 days.
