What is Submental liposuction?

Submental Liposuction uses a suction technique that removes excess fat from your neck and surrounding jawline.

What are the Benefits of Neck Liposuction?

At LBPS, we have seen our London patients benefit from Neck Liposuction in the following ways:

  • Creates ideal definition for your neck and chin
  • Gives you an overall slimmer, younger look
  • Provides permanent double chin removal
  • Removes the potential need for a facelift or neck lift

Who are the Best Candidates for Neck Liposuction?

As one of the leading plastic surgery practices in London, we’ve had the luxury of seeing thousands of patients for face and body procedures. The best candidates for Neck Liposuction are anyone who is unhappy with their neck’s appearance, specifically if you have:

  • Excess Fat
  • Loss of a Defined Jaw and Neckline
  • Mild – Moderate Amount of Excess Skin of the Neck

We also believe that you should have realistic goals when it comes to the surgical outcome and be in good overall health.

What’s the First Step?

The first step to getting neck liposuction in London will be to schedule a consultation. We’ll want to set up a time for you to come meet one-on-one with our award-winning surgical team so we can further explain the surgery, answer any questions, and provide our expert insight.

If you’re happy with our recommendations, surgery will be booked and we’ll provide you with pre and postoperative instructions to make sure your neck liposuction procedure goes smoothly.

You should be very honest with your expectations. Remember, we’re on the same team, and good communication will lead to optimal results with your surgery.

What to Expect on the Day of Neck Liposuction?

When you arrive at the Surgical Center, you will be administered a tumescent fluid that contains epinephrine to decrease the risks of bleeding and bruising, and lidocaine to decrease the amount of anesthesia needed during your surgery. Lidocaine also helps provide pain relief following your surgery.

Intravenous anesthesia will then be utilized to help you have a gentle surgical experience as well as prevent postoperative nausea and eliminate pain.

The liposuction incisions are between 2mm and 3mm in diameter, this is determined by the amount of fat, your skin’s condition, the character of the fat, and the amount of fibrous tissue there is. When the surgery is finished, the incisions will be sealed and hidden in inconspicuous areas.

The whole procedure usually takes less than an hour.

Neck Liposuction Recovery

Once Mr. Inglefield is done with your surgery, a soft headwrap will be placed. We highly recommend resting for about a week, during this time you will be prescribed medications to ease the pain you may experience and some antibiotics to ease the infection. You should also use compression dressing, and surgical vitamins (such as arnica and bromelain) to reduce swelling and bruising, in addition to speeding up your recovery time.

You will need to return to our office the day after your surgery for a follow-up with Mr. Inglefield. After the fourth or fifth day, you should notice any discomfort is significantly reduced. It will take about 6 weeks for the wounds to reach half their full strength. After this period, you may return to any vigorous activities.

The normal schedule for follow-up visits usually takes place the day after surgery, then 1 week, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, and then once a year after. If you have any concerns, you may always come in more frequently if necessary.
